Tuesday, April 26, 2005 Update>Hi everyone! I just finished giving my blog a makeover. There's a few things that I need to do before it's completely done, but I couldn't wait to share it with you. Hopefully, I won't get sick of this for a while since it took me forever to make it look this cute hehehe. Enjoy browsing!
Wednesday, April 20, 2005 SOLD>A week after we put our house on the market, it didn't take long 'til we found a buyer. It's amazing how everything just happened so fast! Out with the old, in with the new... I like the smell of new houses I can't wait 'til we move in.
Sad that I don't have much to talk about nowadays. I really want to keep this blog updated, but it's just too beautiful outside! Besides, I really need to work on my tan I look like a freaking ghost!
In the next few weeks (i.e. if I have time to spare with us moving and all), I will be working on a new design for this blog. Maybe I'll even add more features I'm still brainstorming at the moment so don't hold your breath. hehehe
Wednesday, April 13, 2005 The Coolest Messenger>I thought it was Thursday today so with my AI fascination I wanted to know who got voted off. Bare with me since it's been a week with no TV at my house. The satellite guy will be crawling out of hibernation any day now and when that time comes he can count on me to pounce on him like a predator to his prey hehehe. Back to AI, so I checked out Fox's website to view the results and imagine my surprise when I found the tv show has its own instant messenger (ok that and that it's only Wednesday!) I normally wouldn't give a rat's ass but this particular messenger is kind of fascinating (yeah just like the show!) For one thing, you need not worry about which of your friends has yahoo, msn, or even AIM. This is basically a messenger for all messengers (get it?) okay let's call it the "King of Messengers." Are you even more confused? Fox's website can explain it better than what I'm doing now. I'm not an obsessed fan of AI but it saves me the trouble of signing into 3 different messengers. Now, that I like... Here's the address http://www.americanidolmessenger.com/
Tuesday, April 12, 2005 Princess gives up title for love>[ Romance in the 21st century]
The only daughter of Emperor Akihito was formally betrothed on Saturday -- at 35 years old, one of an increasing number of Japanese women who have chosen to wait for their wedding bells. Princess Nori's betrothal to Yoshiki Kuroda, 39, who works in the urban planning department at Tokyo city hall, was sealed in a ceremony when a messenger from his family brought traditional gifts -- bolts of silk, rice wine and sea bream -- to the Imperial Palace. A senior courtier accepted the presents, met the Emperor, Empress and Princess Nori, and conveyed their message of acceptance. Similar gifts were to be delivered to Kuroda's family later.
Because the princess is marrying a commoner, she must give up her royal title after her marriage, but she is not expected to give up her job with the Yamasha Institute for Ornithology.
[My thoughts] It amazes me when stuff like this happens on this day and age. Celebrities and such really gives romance a bad rep! I thought I'd post this story here since it's a refreshing change from the world of teen marriages that has become trendy nowadays! Click here for the full story.
A man of few words..>I am saying goodbye to a great man. He was a man of strength and honor. I never heard him say he loved his children instead he showed it in many different ways. He was a man who was struck down with an illness, but I never once heard him complain. His sons and daughters flock around him watching his every move. His wife although unused to showing her affections visits his room every night before she goes to bed. Theirs was a life of the old ways. A life where affection is unheard of.
For many years, I watched them grow old never hearing them utter a few sentences except when she scolds him for not eating right. At times, he gets grumpy. I do not blame him for I would feel the same. I do not know much about this great man except that he is my grandfather. We breathe the same air and belong to one circle, but I do not know him because he rarely speaks. I do know one thing, he loved his family. He lost his eyesight and hearing along with his memory, but he never once forgot his grandchildren's names. That was the kind of man he was. A man who possessed quiet strength and dignity. I do not claim to know this man very well or pretend to be his friend. I can only claim that he was a great man - a man of few words.
